It takes a bit of suspension of belief, but it's fiction and the premises make sense within the world Carter builds.A good read for Brandon Mull and Rick Riordan fans. The writing is solid and the plot and characters enjoyable. He ends up separated from his mother and in league with a know-it-all classmate and pickpocket running for their lives.Blood Guard is a book full of twists and turns, some expected and more than a few that are total shocks. Ronan Truelove's whole life changes one day when his mother picks him up from school and they are chased by freaky looking bad guys. Review 1: Most kids have dreamed of waking up to an exciting secret.
